WHAT’S NEW

• Book manuscript, Becoming Catholic: Finding Rome on the American Religious Landscape, is off to Oxford University Press for peer review. Preview of part of the larger project in my article: “Initiation Rites in the Contemporary Catholic Church: What Difference Do They Make?”
• In the first Summer Session of 2013 I will be teaching a popular Sociology of Sport class.
• In fall of 2013 I will be on a research leave to begin data collection for my research project on American gun cultures, beginning with the “concealed carry” movement.
• Through my hobby-gone-mad (Big Time Tennis), I continue to string rackets for Wake Forest’s men’s tennis team, the Wake Forest club tennis teams, and selected individual clients. Looking forward to being on the stringing team at the ATP/WTA CitiOpen in Washington and the ATP Winston-Salem Open again this year.
